Pi is the ratio between a circle circumference and its diameter. It can be shown that this ratio doesn't depend on the circle size. It can also be shown that it is equal to the ratio of the circle area to the square of its radius.

Pi is an irrational number, which means that it is not the ratio of two integers. 22/7, which is about 3.1428, is thus only an approximation of Pi with three correct digits.
The value of Pi is about 3.14. However, Pi is an irrational number with an infinite number of (non-repeating) digits. You can see the first 100 digits of Pi on this page.
Trying to learn more than the first digits of Pi is fun and a good exercise to boost your memory!
